The Gentex HGU-56P is an Improved Rotary Wing Helmet System developed to support the U.S. Army Air Soldier Program to reduce weight & bulk of flight safety equipment. It has a flip down visor and is capable of being equipped with an ANVIS 9 night vision goggle and face mask. The HGU-56P is the standard issued rotary flight crew helmet for the US military from 1995 to present (2020). These helmets are commonly used by flight crews operating rotary wing aircraft like the UH-60 Blackhawk and MH-6 Little Bird.
