Insignia: Right collar officer’s US insignia, Left collar officer’s branch insignia (infantry), shoulder loops rank insignia (captain)
SHIRT: Shirt, officer’s olive drab dark shade
PANTS: Trousers, wool elastique, drab shade
SHOES: Shoes, low quarter, russet leather.
This uniform was only permitted when on duty. Wear of the service coat was mandatory on pass from post. After August 1942 the US collar insignia was removed and replaced with the rank insignia on the right collar. Only the olive drab shirt was permitted to be worn as an outer garment with the winter service uniform
