Info: The Karabiner 98k is a shortened version of the German Gewehr 98, a rifle that influenced other rifles such as the US M1903 and the Japanese Arisaka rifle series. The Karabiner 98k, or Kar 98, was the standard issued rifle for German armed forces from 1935 to 1945. Maintaining the same action design as its predecessor, the Kar 98 proved to be a sturdy, accurate, reliable and powerful rifle. It is fed by a 5 round stripper clip of 7.92x57mm Mauser. After WWII the rifles was re-chambered and supplied to small, growing militaries such as in Israel, as well as re-issued by militaries that captured them like in the Soviet Union. At times it can still be seen today as hunting or sporting rifles, or within the actions of modern rifles influenced by its design.
