Info: The Close Quarter Battle Receiver, or CQBR program was designed to develop an upper receiver for the M4/ M16 platform of rifles to better equip them for Close Quarter Battle or CQB. These new receivers came with a 10.3 inch barrel, making it more compact than the M4 carbine. The CQBR only provided the upper receiver, the Mk18 Mod 0 is the nomenclature for the complete rifle assembly. Aside from the shortened barrel, the parts in an M4 are interchangeable with those in a M4 CQBR and Mk18 Mod 0. These types of rifles are heavily utilized by special operations forces like Navy SEALs.
